Sean Hurst has been designing and making his whole life, but in 1999 he decided to take the change of direction to become an artist and designer. He has not looked back since then.

After finishing his degree in Visual Arts in 2002 Sean started to look for his direction, in 2004 after working as a swimwear cutter he landed a job fabricating costumes for Disney's production of Power Rangers SPD, He continued to return for several seasons up until Saban bought the show off Disney in 2009, he returned for the Samurai season creating costumes for Bulk and Spike as required by the production.He has also work in Art Department Fabricating Ice Caves and Walls for the filming of ICE.

Sean also enjoys creating artwork for public sale, which he has been doing since 1999 and has exhibited across New Zealand since then. He was recently a finalist in the World of Wearable Arts. Having his work displayed in Nelsons World of Wearable Art & Classic Cars Museum

“My inspiration is taken from Sci-Fi and Japanese Manga Cartoons for my WOW entry, but my artwork can range from sexual themes to miniatures of our space around us using found objects and items I have sculpted from various media.” Sean Hurst 2009

Sean Hurst Design has a small one-person workshop, where he creates his artwork and can make limited items for Television/Film productions, adverts or music videos or Stage productions.
